My mother did already "Scrapbooking" in 1940, only I can't read what she wrote !

it's written in Gothic or also called Sütterlin as all Germans did until 1945. I have never learned it at school, just a little with my Grandma, I think in the last picture she wrote "we are engaged" (wir sind verlobt) look at the w, s and the e !!

One may not understand it but one can appreciate that it's pretty just the same! :)

This is an incredible treasure! How lucky you are to have such a memoir from your mother. That is a true family heirloom!

What a lovely take on this theme! Your mother´s script is really beautiful and it is the same as my grandmother´s.
I wish you a happy weekend!

That's beautiful! I am guessing she did the drawings too. She was a talented lady.

That's really beautiful, Gattina! I had to go closer to my monitor to decipher the writings and, for a while, I thought they were mirrored-images. What a neat handwriting, I wish mine were like your grandmas.

It's like my Family German Bible. It is also written in ancient German. Jack could make out a few things, but not too many. Still I cherish it.

Your mom is very talented. And yes me too can't read what is written. But I guess it's about a girl in the garden ^_^ just a guess. Happy weekend!

These are treasure, you must keep them safe. Your mum is so creative,

Now I must do my own, so my daughters or grand daughter will post them on the internet.

Oh my goodness! Such nice artwork, but .. well, I can't read it either. No surprise since it doesn't seem to be in English, but the handwriting style is very similar to my mother's. It's the way they were taught in those days, wasn't it?
