This time I can put the two memes together in one ! Childhood for the Round Robins, and Broken for the Photo Hunters.

Of course it was not easy for me to find something out of my childhood, but I found these two dolls. My mother had given them to my two year old son, without telling me and I just could safe one, but for the other it was too late. Apparently he prefered dolls without clothes and without eyes, but be assured he didn't become a criminal for that. I was very angry with my mother, I wanted to safe these dolls for later.

The eyes are rattling inside !

Cut dolls! I don't remember playing with dolls as a child, it's always outdoor game, running around with friends or reading. Most of the kids here are confined to indoor games at home, not so much outdoor like I used to.

I like the doll with the dark hair and pretty green dress. I only had one doll, a Chatty Cathy. I think I traded her to get my Tiggy back when we moved from CA to IN (I was about 10 years old by then).

I enjoyed the entry. =)

Lovely dolls. Am glad you found them.

Mine were given away when I started playing guns with my brothers.

Oh dear re the poor doll. Have to admit that I used to abuse dolls given to me as well. My cloth animals and plushies, OTOH, were/are looked after well... ;b

That's something my mother would have done too...
Sorry about the broken doll, they are both beautiful in their own way, though!!

I have a few broken dolls from my childhood (and my grandmother's), too. Well-loved, I'd say!!

Kewl choice for the theme! Methinks I have some dolls from my childhood stored in a closet somewhere ... perhaps they'll turn up as I continue to clear out clutter.
Hugs and blessings,

I guess it depends on what you think dolls are for, playing or saving. Apparently you and your mother disagreed. Great take on the theme this week.

Oh dear...I'm sorry your mom gave your dolls up like that. Your reflection shots in the post above this are so pretty Gattina!!

Awwww... that's sad. I don't have any dolls from my childhood but my husband still has his teddy that was given to him when was born. It's pretty "well loved" but we're happy to have him still with us!

Broken dolls sort of freak me out....

Hi Gattina :)

Oh, they look like they were nifty ladies at one time, but they do have that "Loved" look of doll who were played with! :) Lovely that you were able to keep them. :)

I like the brunette doll in the green dress, while I feel sorry for the broken doll. My grandparents gave me dolls from around the world when I was young and my mother couldn't understand why I was upset when my younger sister played with and ruined them. Needless to say, I don't have many old time toys any more.

How neat! I like both of them...but there's something about the older naked one that screams "Childhood!"
: )

I love the green outfit on the one doll. The other one has a face very much like one I had as a kid. But he kept his eyes! Yes, many children have a tendency to trash their dolls. But I bet he had fun doing it! ;)
