Today I am on my way home to Belgium. I haven't seen a lot of animals during my stay in Egypt except a few camels and some cats in the evening, but they were probably wild, because I couldn't take a picture, they just disappeared when I approached. So I show you some "old" pictures of my darling cats.

IDIOMS WITH CATS

Better safe than sorry
This idiom is used to recommend being cautious rather than taking a risk.

Bite off more than you can chew

If you bite off more than you can chew, you take on more responsibilities than you can manage. 'Don't bite off more than you can chew' is often used to advise people against agreeing to more than they can handle.

By the book
If you do something by the book, you do it exactly as you are supposed to.

MACRO MONDAY

In the middle of the ugly, grey and humid November I have these flowers around me in Egypt ! what a paradise !

This is the biggest turquoise stone I have ever seen. It had the size of a little rock.

Michael Jackson and I, behind my friend Chantal on Ali Baba

These are Jules and Jim our house companions. It may seem very normal to a lot of you, but we don't have lizzards in Belgium and so we are quite proud to host some.

Yesterday I saw Chantal checking the floor of the patio, I asked her what she is doing there and she told me that she was looking at Lizzard poop, because she had never seen one. Me neither.
You see we have lots to see in Egypt !

Herding cats
If you have to try to co-ordinate a very difficult situation, where people want to do very different things, you are herding cats.

All ears
If someone says they're all ears, they are very interested in hearing about something.

All that glitters is not gold
This means that appearances can be deceptive and things that look or sound valuable can be worthless. ('All that glistens is not gold' is an alternative.)

I was born in Germany in the middle of the war in 1943. When I was a child I played in ruins, while my family were trying to survive hunger and cold. The homecoming soldiers were not considered as heros, because they had fought for a mad man named Hitler. Therefore there is no grave with German soldiers, and no veterans either. The only thing they want is to forget.

This is the old cimetary of Waterloo. There are probably also people who died during the war burried here.

Peace and love, like on this gravestone.

If all men in the whole world would refuse to be soldiers, there would be no war !

Feast today, famine tomorrow
If you indulge yourself with all that you have today, you may have to go without tomorrow.

What's cooking?
When you ask what's cooking it means you want to know what's happening.

Heart in the right place
