Venice is a city that I've long wanted to visit but also have been afraid to because I don't want reality disappointing. However, the pictures you've shared make me think that it really is lovely -- and not always touristy and over-crowded. So... am tempted to go visit all over again!

This is one of the really fun things about Italy.. we saw similar things in Florence. The buildings are painted or have pigment in the stucco that is so unique... wonderful pastel shades of green, blue and various shades of pink, red and orange.

Hi Gattina, how beautiful, great photos! I had hoped our son and his new bride would have been able to take a gondola ride in Venice but they won't be visiting this time. It looks like a beautiful city :)
