On the market in Waterloo

A typical French fries stand. (it's called a Frites kot) You can find them all around Brussels. They sell the fries in little paper bags. French fries have nothing to do with France, they were invented in Belgium in 1680 !

Now we can even say fries are universal. In fact, you know we call them Frites here. I wonder who insisted to add French to their name ?
